Keeping you up to date with detours and changes happening as a major Queenstown roading project is underway. Otago Regional Council is working with the New Zealand Transport Agency Waka Kotahi to keep Queenstown bus passengers moving while this infrastructure work happens. Please check back to keep up with changes to bus routes.
Buses stopping at the Frankton Bus Hub may be following detours due to road closures. Detours will depend on where the road works are happening. Find out which routes are affected on which dates below.

Please let your bus driver know if you are transferring to another bus at the Frankton Bus Hub so they can communicate with the other driver if buses are running behind schedule.
While most of this work will be done at night, travel times may also be affected during the day so please plan ahead. If you have to be somewhere at a specific time you may want to consider catching an earlier bus.
The Frankton Bus Hub is moving next door on 6am on Thursday, 25 June 2026.
As part of the hub upgrade work, our buses will now use allocated bus stops in and next to the new hub on the same road.

At the new hub location, please use the following stops for these services (see map below):
Services that will continue to use the golf course side of the hub:
Route 1: Sunshine Bay → Remarkables
Route 3: Quail Rise → Kelvin Heights
Route 4: Arrowtown → Jack’s Point
Route 2 services travelling from Arrowtown to Frankton Bus Hub will now finish on the golf course side of the hub (NOT in the main bus hub). If you're travelling on Route 2 from Arrowtown and have a connecting service, please notify your driver when boarding the bus.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause our passengers. This work is part of NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA)’s State Highway 6 and 6A Frankton Intersection and Bus Hub Improvements Project, managed by Kā Huanui a Tāhuna. Contractors will be working to minimise disruption as much as possible.
