The Otago Regional Council has resolved to amend, under Section 55 of the Resource Management Act 1991, the Partially Operative Regional Policy Statement 2019, from 13 April 2022.
The amendment will result in the inclusion of “housing bottom lines” for the regions Tier 2 urban environments (Dunedin and Queenstown), based on the most recent Housing and Business Capacity Assessment undertaken for each area, into Schedule 6: Housing Capacity, as required by Clause 3.6 of the National Policy Statement for Urban Development 2020, without using Schedule 1 of the Resource Management Act 1991.
