ORC is proposing changes and additions to the current water plan to strengthen and align water quality regulations to meet central government expectations and policy. As part of this, we are seeking comments on the usefulness and appropriateness of the guidelines (listed below) for:

• Erosion and sediment control
• Practice notes for dairy effluent infrastructure
• Guidelines for calculating dairy effluent storage needs
• Technical guidelines for the disposal of waste to land

Pursuant to Part Three Clause 34(2)(c) of the First Schedule of the Resource Management Act 1991, the Otago Regional Council gives public notice that:

• material which is proposed to be incorporated by reference in the Regional Plan: Water for Otago through Proposed Plan Change 8 (Discharge Management); and
• material which is proposed to be incorporated by reference in the Regional Plan: Waste for Otago through Proposed Plan Change 1 (Dust suppressants and landfills)

is available:

• for purchase or public inspection during working hours (8.00 am to 5.00 pm), until Friday, 28 February 2020 at the Otago Regional Council offices at:

  • William Fraser Building, Dunorling Street, Alexandra
  • Terrace Junction, 1092 Frankton Road, Queenstown
• online via the ORC website: www.orc.govt.nz

Comments on the proposal to incorporate the proposed material by reference may be made in writing by any person.
