Who is your Orbus driver of the month?

Do you have an Orbus driver who goes out of their way to help, always has a smile on their face, or does something to make your bus trip great?

Now is your chance to nominate your favourite bus driver for September.

Nominate online at yoursay.orc.govt.nz/OrbusDriver or call 0800 ORBUSDN (672 8736). You can find the link on OrbusDN Facebook or via the Orbus button under Transport on the My Little Local App.

You have three weeks to cast your nomination. We’ll also ask the bus operators – Ritchies and Go Bus – to have a say.

There will be a recipient from GoBus as well as Ritchies and each ‘Driver of the Month’ will be awarded a meal voucher at Bransons Bar & Eatery.

If you’d like to nominate an Orbus driver, make sure you ask them their name (if you don’t know it already). You will find the time and route number on your ticket to help fill in the form.

Driving Miss Daisy gets new ramps

Did you know that the Otago Regional Council and NZ Transport Agency work together to support people with mobility issues to get around?
The Total Mobility scheme assesses folks who have difficulty accessing public transport. We work with 15 supporting agencies across Otago to help give those who are eligible the opportunity to continue to get around.

ORC also funds wheelchair hoist/ramps for Total Mobility taxis including this recent adaptation for Driving Miss Daisy.

For more information about Total Mobility contact ORC on 0800 474 082 or speak with one of the support agencies. You can also find more here www.orc.govt.nz/public-transport/total-mobility
