There are a number of scheduled Dunedin City Council roadworks, road safety improvements and resurfacing happening across Dunedin in coming weeks.
With Stuart Street, Cavell Street, Highgate Road, Taieri Road and Drivers Road all experiencing works, many of our services will or are being diverted, or will have stops closed. These include the no. 15 Ridge Runner, no. 50 St Clair-Helensburgh, no. 3 Ocean Grove-Ross Creek and the no. 44 St Kilda-Halfway Bush.
Often when roadworks are scheduled, the commencement dates may shift a day or two. To be conservative and ensure buses don’t get stuck and passengers are stranded or surprised, we often implement diversions before the actual works start. That is why at times we may run a detour before the roadworks have even started.
During this time, we ask that you check our Orbus alerts page which can be found on the Public Transport page of the ORC website at www.orc.govt.nz/Orbus, or directly at www.orc.govt.nz/public-transport/notifications-and-alerts. You can also run a search using the term Orbus DN alerts.
We’d like to thank you in advance for being patient during these works. We will endeavour to keep you updated and informed.
Who is your Orbus October driver of the month?
Have you been onboard with a driver who goes that extra mile? Whether it be going out of their way to help you or simply being there with a smile and a friendly hello? Let them know you appreciate them by nominating them as your favourite bus driver for October. There are only a few days left to vote for this month.
Go online at yoursay.orc.govt.nz/OrbusDriver or call 0800 ORBUSDN (672 8736) to nominate them.
Two recipients will be chosen, one each from GoBus and Ritchies, with each winning a meal voucher from Bransons Bar & Eatery.
Make sure you get the name of the driver you want to nominate (if you don’t know it already). If you don’t get a name, check your ticket for the time and route number to help fill in the form or to give us the details over the phone.
