Well done to Carlo, Kylie and Sarah, the three My Little Local Orbus competition winners who collectively won a total of $2200 worth of vouchers from Bus Hub retailers.
Well done to Carlo, Kylie and Sarah, the three My Little Local Orbus competition winners who collectively won a total of $2200 worth of vouchers from Bus Hub retailers including Countdown, Look Sharp Store, Smiths Sports Shoes, F45 CBD training gym and Farmers.
Our week one winner, Carlo Luis Lee, lives in Opoho. Carlo came to Dunedin to study his postgrad and never left. He now works for ACC and is a regular bus user, often catching the No.11 home to avoid walking up the hill, and play Pokemon Go on his mobile phone. Now that he's downloaded the My little Local app, he's enjoying getting bus notifications even quicker.
Week two winner Kylie Milne is a mum to 9-year old Lucas, as well as two cats, a dog, fish, a bird and lots of chickens. She was rapt to win $700 worth of vouchers including the $100 from Look Sharp Store where she was planning to “go over the top on Christmas decorations” later this year. Kylie lives in Normanby and catches the No.8 bus to Palms Motel where she works.
Finally, Sarah Webster took home the grand prize. A Mosgiel resident, she catches the No.77 bus. She beat a good number of entries, judging by the 25,000 page views on the last day of the competition.
The routes most voted for were No.77 and No.50. We also asked which celebrity you would most like to travel on the bus with. The most popular were Jacinda Ardern, David Attenborough, Keanu Reeves and coming in tied for 4th and 5th were Ben Smith and Michelle Obama.
During the competition, just over 2,750 people clicked on the Orbus competition and more than 8,050 visited the Orbus button.
The competition may have ended but the Orbus button lives on. You can download My Little Local from the App Store or Google Play, to access everything Orbus on the app including journey planning, notifications and news.
We’d like to thank everyone who entered, commented and downloaded the app.
Earlier this week, when the roads were icy, some bus services were affected. When this happens, we are in regular communication with the bus operators about services, and try as quickly as we can, to update passengers via Facebook, My Little Local and via 0800 ORBUSDN (0800 672 8736).
Safety is top of our list, so when roads are icy or snow-covered we may delay or cancel a bus service until the conditions improve. Our operators assess road and driving conditions continuously.
