Notice is hereby given that, as part of the Council’s Vegetation Control Programme in and around waterways of Otago, aerial spraying of willow and other noxious plants may be carried out between February and March 2014

Notice is hereby given that, as part of the Council’s Vegetation Control Programme in and around waterways of Otago, aerial spraying of willow and other noxious plants may be carried out between February and March 2014, along the margins of the following rivers and lakes:

Waitaki SRD

  • Island Stream
  • Shag downstream Palmerston
  • Kakanui
  • Downlands Creek

Dunedin SRD

  • Waipori at Lake Waipori Mouth
  • Taieri Outram – Henley
  • Taieri Middlemarch

Central SRD

  • Dunstan Creek
  • Manuherikia
  • Taieri Styx Basin
  • Taieri Maniatoto

Clutha SRD

  • Waitahuna D/S Queens Bridge
  • Puerua Above Wilson Road
  • Lake Tuakatoto
  • Clutha various spots
  • Puerua above Kaka Point bridge
  • Waipati River (Chaslands Highway)

Queenstown Lakes

  • Rees
  • White/ Von re-spray

It should be noted that spraying will be primarily spot spraying of isolated areas of vegetation and will be carried out by helicopter using a glyphosate based chemical.
