The Council meeting covers reports to the Minister for the Environment on vegetable production in Otago’s NPS-FM planning and the costs and implications of notifying the Land and Water Regional Plan before the NPS-FM is replaced. Supporting documents include a request for information on vegetable production, the second report to the Minister, and the draft section 27 RMA report (May 2024).

To present for approval by the Otago Regional Council (ORC), the second report to the Minister for the Environment, in accordance with section 27 of the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA) in relation to how ORC intends to provide for vegetable production in its NPS-FM freshwater management planning instruments.
To present for approval by Council, a report to the Minister for the Environment requested under section 27 of the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA) on the costs, benefits, and implications of notifying the Land and Water Regional Plan before the National Policy Statement for Freshwater Management is replaced.
