Air quality drop-in session — Arrowtown

Tuesday 20 August 2024

1-3pm - 4–6pm

Venue: Arrowtown Community Centre, Jack Reid Park, 12 Centennial Avenue

Arrowtown

Let’s talk air! We are refreshing our approach to managing air quality — and it starts with you.

It’s your opportunity to chat with us and give your thoughts on what could be done to improve the air quality in your local community and across Otago.

While Otago’s air quality has improved over the past 20 years, our science data shows the need to do more.
Monitoring and research show that the main culprit for air pollution in Otago is home heating from solid fuel burners. Other sources include outdoor burning, vehicle and industrial emissions, dust, odour and agricultural spraying.

We have identified potential approaches to manage air quality and want to hear what you think.

Can’t make this drop-in session? No worries — you can join us in one of our two online webinars on Monday, 5 August, and/or share your thoughts and heating habits in our online feedback form.

Online feedback is open until 11.59pm Monday, 26 August.

Your feedback will influence how we manage air quality in the future.

Don’t miss out on having your say on the future of Otago’s air.
