A5 | Scarce in Otago in terms of its ecological or physical character. Scarce wetland type. This is the only known salt pan within the Macraes Ecological District. The salt pan is a mosaic of bare exposed saline soil and the native salt tolerant plants Apium sp. and Selliera microphylla.
