Future opportunities and challenges for Otago were front of mind for Otago Regional Council in preparing the Long-Term Plan for 2024-34.
The plan sets direction and identifies focus areas for the council - strong and resilient communities, partnering with mana whenua, protecting the environment, addressing climate change and providing public transport.
The community plays a key part in developing this plan – feedback and ideas helped councillors to identify what the community wants, and this informs decision-making.
Decisions have now been made. You can see what was proposed in the Consultation Document, some changes have been made following input from the community. Key decisions are:
