Dunedin changes – 30 June 2025

Changes are coming for some Dunedin bus routes and timetables from 30 June 2025.   

Changes in Dunedin will provide better connections for passengers from southeastern areas of the city into South Dunedin, together with timetable changes to other routes to improve reliability.  

Check out the routes below to see what changes are coming to your route on 30 June. 

Please Note:  updated timetables will not show on the website timetable pages or the journey planner until the day of 30 June 2025.  To view the changes to your route from the 30 June, you can download individual timetables by selecting your route below.

The changes will affect the following routes in both directions: 

• Route 1 (City - Palmerston) No change
• Route 3 (Ocean Grove - Ross Creek)
• Route 5 (Pine Hill - Calton Hill)
• Route 6 (Calton Hill - Pine Hill) has been combined into Route 5 as a return trip. The route is now called Route 5 in both directions.
• Route 8 (St Clair - Normanby)
• Route 10 (Opoho - Shiel Hill)
• Route 11 (Shiel Hill - Opoho) has been combined into Route 10 as a return trip. The route is now called Route 10 in both directions.
• Route 14 (Port Chalmers - City) No change
• Route 15 (Ridge Runner Northbound and Southbound) No change
• Route 18 (Peninsula - City)
• Route 19 (Waverley - Belleknowes)
• Route 33 (Corstorphine - Wakari) No change
• Route 37 (Concord - University)
• Route 38 (University - Concord) has been combined into Route 37 as a return trip. The route is now called Route 37 in both directions.
• Route 44 (St Kilda - Halfway Bush)
• Route 50 (St Clair Park - Helensburgh) No change
• Route 55 (St Kilda - Brockville)
• Route 61 (City - Kenmure) No change
• Route 63 (Balaclava - Logan Park) No change
• Route 70 (Brighton - Green Island and Brighton - Concord)
• Route 77 (Mosgiel - City)
• Route 78 (Mosgiel - City Express)
• Route 80/81 (Mosgiel town loop)

Others

• Logan Park High School to Pine Hill via Opoho (was part of Route 6) will now be changed to Route 95A
• Pine Hill to Logan Park High School (was part of Route 5) will now be changed to Route 95B
• Dunedin North Intermediate (was part of Route 6) will now be changed to Route 96

With changes to the above timetables, there will be some bus stop changes to routes. The main changes around South Dunedin can be seen below. Some other routes may have minor stop changes, to be sure please make sure you check your timetable so you know where you need to catch your bus.
